Job OverviewThe Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for developing high-quality, rigorous assessment items aligned to state standards and state assessment tests across 7 states. The SME will review content alignment and ensure the quality and accuracy of English Language Arts (ELA) assessments.Project ScopeThe project involves developing assessment questions in the style according to state test blueprints for ELA grades 3-8 and English I. The course will have passages and questions for each of the 7 states and across 7 grade levels:Passages and questions for 7 statesAssessment items for ELA grades 3-8 and English ISME ResponsibilitiesThe SME will collaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review AI-generated multiple-choice and non-multiple-choice questions developed for each grade level and state. The SME will evaluate the questions for accuracy, pedagogical relevance, and rigor, and alignment to standards and/or Unpacked Standards Measurable Objectives (USMOs).Key RequirementsProven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in ELA instruction (Grade 3-8 and HS English I content level)Demonstrated experience in authoring high-quality, rigorous assessment items for state or standardized testingStrong understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and experience authoring questions at DOK Level 2 and DOK Level 3Strong understanding of the science of reading research and how it impacts grades 3+Familiarity with various question types, including multiple-choice, multiple-select, and short-answer, fill the blanks, matching list, choice matrix, etc.High accuracy and turnaround timeWhat We OfferA challenging and rewarding role that makes a real impact on educationThe opportunity to work with a talented team of professionalsA competitive salary and benefits packageHow to ApplyTo apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and qualifications.
