Job Title: Data Protection StrategistOur organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Protection Strategist to lead the development and implementation of our data protection strategy. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our organization's sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or destruction.Responsibilities:Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate data security risks.Lead the development and implementation of data encryption and anonymization solutions.Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvements in data security posture.Manage daily database activity monitoring operations and ensure secure DB configurations.Engage with executive leadership and regulatory bodies to ensure our organization's data protection practices meet industry standards.Requirements:12+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, or security governance.Minimum 4 years in compliance, risk, legal, audit, or data protection implementation roles within a large bank or financial institution.Strong experience in financial services or large enterprise environments.Proven expertise in data protection strategy, governance, DLP, data encryption, anonymization, and database security.Hold at least two professional certifications in data protection or related field (e.g., CIPPe / CIPM / CIPT, CDPSA, CISA / CISM / CISSP, PCI-QSA, SABSA).A successful candidate will have both deep technical expertise and wide cross-functional understanding. They must be able to solve complex problems, drive automation, and introduce innovative security solutions.
