Research Analyst (Indian Sugar Market)
Job Description
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with MEIR’s London-based global brokerage team, focusing on the Indian sugar market. The Research Analyst will be responsible for analyzing supply–demand fundamentals, monitoring industry developments and producing high-quality research reports to support traders and clients across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and prepare analytical reports on the Indian sugar industry.
- Track and evaluate production, consumption, trade flows and government policy changes impacting the market.
- Collaborate with the global research team to provide timely insights and market intelligence.
- Draft clear, concise and data-backed reports and presentations.
- Monitor industry news, regulatory updates and global developments that influence sugar trade.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in commodity or sugar market research will be a strong plus, but freshers with the right academic background and interest are welcome to apply.
- Solid understanding (or eagerness to learn) of sugar/agri-commodity fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, writing and report drafting skills.
- High proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Strong Excel/analytical skills; familiarity with data tools will be an advantage.
