Agricultural Technologist

Job Title: Climate Solutions SpecialistWe are seeking an experienced climate solutions specialist to support the identification, evaluation, and deployment of innovative technologies across select agricultural value chains.The specialist will work closely with technology providers, implementing partners, and financial institutions to assess technological impact, estimate greenhouse gas reductions, and design appropriate financing solutions that promote the adoption and scale of climate-resilient practices.The role requires a strong understanding of local and global agribusiness environments, as well as awareness of emerging market opportunities. Experience working with technology providers, farmer organizations, and financial institutions to develop climate-aligned products or investment strategies is highly desirable.The specialist will be responsible for conducting field-based assessments of agricultural technologies, developing metrics and methodologies to estimate greenhouse gas emission reductions, and translating agronomic and sustainability benefits into financing metrics.Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with stakeholders to identify barriers to technology adoption, track and apply relevant global and national best practices in sustainable agriculture, and promote innovative and scalable finance models.Key Responsibilities:Identify and evaluate climate-resilient technologies suited to selected value chainsAssess the performance of technologies in terms of productivity improvement, input efficiency, and resource reductionDevelop metrics and methodologies to estimate greenhouse gas emission reductionsTranslate agronomic and sustainability benefits into financing metricsSupport stakeholder engagements to identify barriers to technology adoptionCollaborate with stakeholders to promote innovative and scalable finance modelsRequirements:Advanced degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or a related fieldMinimum of 8 years of professional experience in agricultural finance, sustainable agriculture, or climate-resilient value chains; familiarity with climate-smart agriculture approaches preferredStrong understanding of local and global agribusiness environments, as well as awareness of emerging market opportunitiesExperience working with technology providers, farmer organizations, and financial institutions to develop climate-aligned products or investment strategiesFamiliarity with greenhouse gas accounting tools is preferredProven experience in organizing and delivering capacity-building activities, including workshops and training sessions
