Clean Electric is a Series A funded battery tech company focused on designing and manufacturing advanced li-ion batteries for EVs and energy storage applications which enable 12-min rapid charging, long life and unrivalled safety. We are pushing the boundaries of the EV industry with our Direct Contact Liquid Cooling (DCLC) thermal management, integrated cell-to-pack (CTP) architecture, and proprietary dynamic charging algorithms running on a custom-engineered in-house battery management system.


Founded in 2020 by IIT-BHU graduates Akash Gupta, Abhinav Roy and Ankit Joshi, we are today rapidly scaling and deploying our tech across 2W and 3W segments with plans to enter 4W and commercial vehicles as well. The team comprises multiple IIT, IIM graduates and industry professionals and we are backed by some of the leading Indian VCs.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Validation Engineer to join our validation team. The Validation Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing validation protocols to ensure that our battery systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and robustness of our battery packs before they enter full-scale production.


Role Description and Key Responsibilities

The role involves tasks including but not limited to -

  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive validation as well as verification plans for battery systems, including performance, environmental, and durability testing.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather test data and perform detailed analysis to evaluate the system's performance against design specifications and standards.
  • Failure Analysis: Identify and diagnose failures, working with cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance Testing: Ensure that all systems comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety certifications (such as ARAI and ISO standards).
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed validation reports, including test procedures, results, and conclusions. Maintain thorough documentation for internal records and external audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend design improvements based on validation results and contribute to the refinement of test protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, proto, production, firmware and quality teams to ensure smooth hand off of validated products.


Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong background in testing and validation of electrical/electronic systems, preferably in battery systems or automotive applications.
  • Hands-on experience with validation protocols, test equipment, and environmental chambers.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) and electric vehicle components is a plus.
  • Experience in the electric vehicle (EV) or energy storage industry.
  • Preferred -Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements for battery systems (ISO, BIS, ARAI, etc).
  • Certifications related to testing, quality control, or system validation.
