Job Description: Assistant Manager – EHS
Job Location: Hosur (Tamil Nadu)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs plant in achieving EHS targets & Objectives
- Assist in EHS governance through Systems & Procedures implementation in the plant
- Facilitates EHS inspections of the premises to identify unsafe acts and conditions, engaging employees in the process and tracking the progress of corrective actions
- Support, participate in Risk assessments & ensure plant Risk register & controls are up to date
- Conducting EHS training for all the employees in plant
- Support, monitor & ensure MOC & PSSR processes are executed as necessary
- Identify, coordinate, develop and implement EHS continual improvement projects
- Develops and maintains emergency response plans for the plant, ensuring that drills are conducted, and the effectiveness of the plans is documented
- Support & ensure procurement of new machines adheres to all relevant standards and regulations
- Evaluate proposed projects and new chemical introductions, ensuring that appropriate plans are established and executed
- Organize safety committee meetings and track progress
- Organize ERT, fire assessment, drills, analyze, recommend & implement actions
- Coordinates emergency response team (ERT) activities, fire assessments and drills, analyzing outcomes to recommend and implement necessary actions
- Compile, coordinate, monitor occupational exposure levels at shop floor not limited to chemicals, noise & heat stress etc.
- Outline, monitor, ensure safe execution of high risk / permit to work activities in collaboration with stake holders
- Organize, take part in incident investigation, analyze, recommend CAPA, monitor & track implementation
- Establish, Review and Monitor Contractor safety management and adherence
- Analyze and implement the requirements of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certifications
Knowledge & Skills:
- In depth knowledge of manufacturing operations and EHS implications
- Knowledge on Statutory compliance norms on EHS
- Good understanding of EHS systems, Processes & mechanisms
- Good communication and influencing skills
- IT literate, with the ability to use the full Microsoft Office package
Educational Qualification
Graduate Engineer from a recognized University, MTech. Candidates are Preferred. Diploma in Industrial Safety from State Board, RLI, CLI
Experience: 5-8 years of manufacturing operations experience
