Job Title : Development Open-Source DBA
Work Location: Hyderabad
Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Development Open-Source Database Administrator (DBA) to work collaboratively with application and development teams. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability, performance, and security of opensource databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. This role requires expertise in database management, development collaboration, and optimization in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra databases.
- Monitor database health and optimize for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for databases.
- Development Collaboration
- Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and provide database solutions.
- Design and implement database schemas to support application functionality and performance.
- Collaborate on query optimization and performance tuning during development cycles.
- Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize database performance, including indexing, query optimization, and resource usage.
- Resolve performance bottlenecks and provide proactive recommendations for improvements.
- Database Security
- Implement and maintain database security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and audit logs.
- Stay updated with security vulnerabilities and apply patches or mitigations promptly.
- Backup and Recovery
- Establish robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
- Test and validate recovery procedures periodically.
- Monitoring and Automation
- Implement monitoring tools to track database performance, uptime, and security.
- Develop scripts and automation for routine database tasks.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and performance metrics.
- Provide regular reports on database health, performance, and capacity planning.
- Innovation and Trends
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in opensource databases.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools or methodologies to improve database operations.
Qualification:
- Experience 7+ years of experience managing MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra databases in production environments.
- Handson experience in database development, administration, and optimization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in database scripting and SQL.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong knowledge of database replication, clustering, and partitioning.
- Expertise in integrating databases with CI/CD pipelines.
- Tools: Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with database automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Security and Compliance: Understanding of data privacy regulations and their implications for database management.
- Soft Skills:Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Problem solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Preferred Skills Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Certifications - MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
