We are looking for a skilled MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) SME for a Level 3 support position. This role involves managing and troubleshooting PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB (Optional) databases, ensuring high reliability for both internal and Internet services. The candidate will be responsible for performance tuning, disaster recovery, and maintaining security in a fast-paced environment. A deep understanding of performance tuning, replication, and cloud infrastructures like Azure is critical.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install and configure PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB (Optional) databases for internal and Internet services.
  • Server Maintenance: Maintain highly reliable database servers with a focus on high availability and performance.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate incidents, find root causes, and prepare RCA reports to optimize the system.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform advanced performance tuning for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Disaster Recovery: Handle disaster recovery activities and perform database recoveries from various failure scenarios using backup and recovery tools or third-party tools like Commvault.
  • New Database Setup: Build and configure new databases as required.
  • Security Hardening: Implement security measures on database servers.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery Solutions: Implement HR and DR solutions to ensure data availability and resilience.
  • Replication Troubleshooting: Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to MySQL and PostgreSQL Master-Slave replication setups, including replication lags.
  • Query Optimization: Identify and optimize long-running queries.
  • Automation & Monitoring: Automate reports and set up monitoring using tools like PMM (Percona Monitoring and Management).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Have a solid understanding of Azure infrastructure and its PaaS (Platform as a Service) offerings for databases.


Required Skills:
  • Advanced experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with database disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Hands-on experience with replication (Master-Slave) setups.
  • Proficiency in database security hardening.
  • Familiarity with PMM or similar monitoring tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure and PaaS services.
  • Experience with third-party recovery tools like Commvault is a plus.
