Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Architecture & Design:Define database models, schemas, and structures for applications.Ensure designs meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.Performance & Optimisation:Monitor system performance (queries, indexes, workloads).Optimise queries, indexing strategies, and storage.Database Operations & Maintenance:Oversee backups, restores, patching, replication, failover strategies.Manage data migrations and upgrades.Data Governance & Security:Implement access control, encryption, and compliance standards.Leadership & Coordination:Communicate risks, design decisions, and strategies to stakeholders.Cloud & Modernisation:Plan and lead database modernisation efforts (e.g., migrating from on-prem to cloud).
