Job Title: Portfolio Manager – Software Development

Location: Ahmedabad

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift Time: 2 PM to 11 PM


Job Overview:

The Portfolio Manager will manage multiple software development projects within our company, ensuring that each aligns with our strategic business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and resource management skills to deliver high-quality services. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across departments, manage project risks, and ensure the successful completion of all software projects within the portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Planning & Management:
  • Lead the planning, prioritization, and management of a portfolio of software development projects.
  • Align portfolio objectives with the company's strategic vision and business goals.
  • Ensure that each project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Resource Allocation & Management:
  • Coordinate and manage resources across multiple projects to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Work closely with development teams, product managers, and business units to ensure the proper allocation of skills and resources.
  • Manage dependencies between projects and resolve conflicts to ensure smooth execution.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for portfolio-related matters, providing updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with cross-functional teams including development, QA, product management, and operations.
  • Ensure stakeholder expectations are met and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation:
  • Identify potential risks across projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Monitor project performance, track KPIs, and report on the overall health of the portfolio.
  • Conduct post-mortem reviews to identify lessons learned and implement process improvements for future projects.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation:
  • Continuously evaluate and refine portfolio management processes to increase efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Advocate for the adoption of best practices in project management, agile methodologies, and development processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in project/portfolio management within a software development environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple software projects.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, product management, and operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project).
  • PMP or other relevant certifications (preferred).
