Job Title: Vector Database ArchitectAstra DB Serverless (Vector) environments require exceptional administration skills. As a vector database administrator, you will oversee the daily management and maintenance of our Astra DB Serverless environments in production.The ideal candidate has experience with database health monitoring, performance optimization, and data operations using Storage Attached Indexing and vector search capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration:• Maintain and monitor Astra DB Serverless environments for optimal performance and availability.• Implement backup, restore, and cloning strategies to ensure disaster recovery and operational continuity.Data Operations:• Ingest and index vector data for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.• Optimize storage and query performance using built-in features and indexing techniques.Security & Compliance:• Ensure database security through role-based access control, encryption, and logging.• Maintain compliance with internal and external data governance policies.Automation & Integration:• Automate operational tasks using APIs and CI/CD pipelines.• Integrate Astra DB with AI platforms and developer tools.Support & Troubleshooting:• Provide production support, including incident response and root cause analysis.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.RequirementsTechnical Skills:• Proven experience with database administration, especially Astra DB Serverless.• Knowledge of data operations, indexing, and search algorithms.Soft Skills:• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.• Strong communication and collaboration skills.BenefitsAs a vector database administrator, you will have opportunities to grow professionally, develop new skills, and contribute to the success of our organization.
