As a Cloud Storage Administrator, you ll use standard processes and automation to deploy storage clusters that expand the capacity of our storage as a service offering. You ll also work directly with customers and their account teams to plan and execute workload migrations across storage resources. You ll remotely administer the lifecycle of storage resources from deployment to decommissioning while maintaining a customer-first mentality.

This position includes on-call work due to the critical nature of the services we support.

Duties & Requirements

Administer NetApp remote and cloud-based storage solutions. Assist with capacity planning to ensure continuous performance expectations are met.

Automate repetitive and error prone tasks and processes, using tools like GitHub, PowerShell, Python, Bash and other scripting languages.

Ensure adequate monitoring is in place and enhance or adjust where needed, using tools like Prometheus and Grafana in addition to proprietary NetApp monitoring solutions and home-grown scripts / automation. You''ll continuously measure the availability, latency and overall system health.

Secure our environment from security threats deploying patches and least-privilege configurations.

Respond to incidents and drive change preventing issues from re-occurring. You will also look for opportunities to automate the recovery for certain incidents that may be difficult to prevent. You will use Atlassian Jira and Azure DevOps to track issues to resolution based on their priority.

Document findings and solutions you create using Atlassian Confluence as well as well-documented automation.

Key Characteristics

5-10 years of experience with large enterprise ONTAP NAS management & administration. Experience should include conducting ONTAP upgrades, applying standard configurations, coordinating hardware break/fix, managing migrations, and troubleshooting performance issues.

A strong understanding of storage protocols and technologies like CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel switching and general networking constructs.

Proficiency with administering multi-site replication, backup and disaster recovery will be essential. The candidate will use this experience to identify and resolve any issues with the replication relationships across NetApp storage arrays hosting clones, SnapMirrors, and vaults.

Experience managing adjacent technologies like Windows Active Directory, Unix/Linux, VMware, Kubernetes, DNS, external key managers and firewalls.

Proficiency with at least one scripting language similar to Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell.

A working knowledge of public cloud vendors such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or others.

You are generally curious and highly motivated with a passion for ensuring scalable and highly available solutions.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal customers, peers, and managers in both the verbal and written form. These skills will be important as the candidate will craft internal and external documentation for new process and procedures.
