About this team:

This role is on a Digital Transactions and Identity team in the lululemon technology organization. lululemon Engineering is dedicated to building secure, reliable, and performant products for our guests and partners. As Technology Manager, you will work as part of a global team supported by our business, engineering and architecture partners to help us collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemon’s business goals.

A day in the life:

  • Lead and grow a team of skilled engineers, architects, and analysts through empathy and people-centric approach
  • Set the team's delivery roadmap and technical goals, working closely with technology leaders in North America and other partner teams.
  • Ensure team's deliverables meet the security, quality and engineering maturity standards set by enterprise architecture and engineering
  • Ensure that team is delivering as per the planned timelines by helping remove any blockers
  • Manage the resource and delivery plans for the team.
  • Ensure the right skills are being used to solve the right problems by supporting the team with coaching, skills development, and career path leadership
  • Being a role model and lead awareness and training for your team in our IDEA program - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a seasoned Technology Manager with expertise in mobile platforms (iOS, Android with Kotlin Multiplatform) , cloud and DevOps , and a strong understanding of AI-driven solutions . This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management to deliver intelligent, scalable, and high-performing mobile applications that enhance digital retail experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Mobile & Cross-Platform Development:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of iOS applications in Swift and Android applications using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) .
  • Architect shared Kotlin modules for efficient cross-platform delivery while ensuring native-grade experiences.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (Xcode Cloud, Gradle, Jenkins) to automate build, testing, and deployment workflows.

AI-Driven Mobile Experiences:

  • Drive the adoption of AI/ML-powered capabilities in mobile apps, including personalized recommendations, predictive search, chatbots, voice interfaces, fraud detection, and computer vision-based experiences .
  • Collaborate with data science and product teams to integrate AI-driven insights and personalization into customer journeys.
  • Ensure responsible AI practices with a focus on performance, security, and ethical use of customer data.

Backend, Cloud & DevOps:

  • Architect and deliver microservices-based backends to power mobile applications.
  • Develop and deploy Python REST APIs for seamless data exchange and integration with AI models and external services.
  • Apply DevOps principles (automation, observability, CI/CD) to streamline delivery cycles.
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS with scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency in mind.

Leadership & Retail Domain Expertise:

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams across mobile, backend, and DevOps domains , fostering innovation and technical excellence.
  • Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to shape mobile-first retail eCommerce experiences .
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, mobile technologies, and omnichannel commerce to guide strategic technology direction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in mobile application development (iOS – Swift, Android – Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform).
  • 5+ years of experience in people leadership, including mentoring, performance management, and career development
  • Proven track record of delivering AI-driven solutions in mobile apps, particularly in retail or customer-facing domains.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Xcode Cloud, Gradle, Gitlab) for mobile applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in microservices architecture , Python REST API development , and AWS cloud solutions .
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of retail eCommerce platforms and customer experience journeys .
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced, global environment .
