Job Duties:Managing allocated projects as a Team LeaderCommunicating and sharing resources with other Team Leaders as demands for resources ebb and flowEnsuring those under your supervision perform assigned tasks effectivelyMonitoring and reporting attendance, lateness, and extended break violationReporting to SDE's Operations Manager any and all issues and/or concerns that arise on the production floor via email and in personApproaching personnel with fairness and respect in all your dealingsComprehensive understanding of employees' strengths and weaknesses, harnessing strengths and managing weaknessesCommunicating effectively and with respect to all staff, with an aim to keep them motivated and performing at high levels of productivity.Reviewing, understanding, and ensuring Customer Standards are followedResponsible for ensuring that Grid/ABM/Connecting & Checking duties have been completed for each deliverableAssisting Shift Supervisor and Team as a detailer when and if required to help maintain schedul Creating Request for Information's (RFI's)Managing RFI Log with Project Manager/Shift SupervisorRaising Extra Work Order opportunities, allocating hours, tracking approved hours.Awareness and distribution of Project Data such as the Revised IFC, IFA, RFA etc. Responsible for Mentoring Junior Team Leaders Arrange internal kick off meeting/project team meeting (review recorded meeting), review kick off meeting notes, and ensuring all team members both current and future are aware and educated on all information surrounding kick off meetings.Ensuring Project Folder contains all relevant informationResponsible for releasing shop and field drawing lists for editing when working in multi-office workflowResponsible for issuing shop and field packages/sequencesProjects:Team Leader will work on medium to larger size project, both in size and complexity. Team sizes will be larger. Team Leader must have an assigned mentor, either Operations Manager, Shift Supervisor.Experience & Qualifications:Must have experience in detailing/checking and be adept at balancing tight schedules. A thorough understanding of steel detailing and production standards is necessary. You must have a sound understanding of Dowco's business processes. You must be organized and have excellent communication skills both written and verbally. You possess excellent people skills and are a motivational leader. In this role you are proactive and a logical thinker who takes initiative to solve problems early. You are knowledgeable in industry technology and specifications. You are someone who performs all your daily duties with honesty and integrity.Minimum of 8 years' experience in the steel detailing industry.Development:Level 1: Connection design course or NISD Detailing Class II (or approved equivalent by the Quality Assurance Manager) and Tekla EvaluationLevel 2: Managing Successful Team Meetings Training, Dowco Processes Exam and Tekla EvaluationLevel 3: NISD Detailing Class 1 (or approved equivalent by the Quality Assurance Manager) and Tekla EvaluationDisclaimer: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
