Operational Excellence Manager Role OverviewThe Operational Excellence Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end aluminium billet casting line operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met while leading the shift workforce effectively.Key Responsibilities:Production Management:Supervise and control day-to-day aluminium billet casting operations to ensure adherence to production schedules, casting parameters, and metallurgical standards.Coordinate furnace operations, metal charging, melting, degassing, filtration, and casting to optimize process efficiency.Monitor process parameters such as temperature, grain refinement, chemistry, casting speed, and cooling systems to prevent defects.Quality Assurance:Evaluate billets to ensure they meet required diameters, surface quality, chemistry, and mechanical property standards.Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of billets to identify any defects.Coordinate with Quality Assurance team for sampling, testing, and timely corrective actions to minimize defects.Safety & Compliance:Implement safety protocols, PPE usage, and safe working practices to prevent injuries and incidents.Conduct shift-wise safety briefings to ensure compliance with EHS guidelines.Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately to prevent reoccurrence.Team Leadership:Lead and supervise operators, helpers, and technicians during the shift to allocate manpower based on workload and machine requirements.Provide on-the-job training to new and existing team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.Equipment & Process Monitoring:Monitor and control casting equipment, furnaces, casting machines, cooling systems, filters, and cranes to prevent downtime.Ensure preventive maintenance activities are followed to extend equipment lifespan.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate shift logs, production reports, downtime reports, and quality records to track performance metrics.Document metal consumption, billet output, scrap generation, and process deviations to analyze trends and areas for improvement.
