Job Summary:The successful candidate will oversee and manage the financial accounting functions within a dynamic organization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have worked in construction accounting/contractor accounting, with a strong understanding of the % completion method of accounting and experience working on project profitability.Key Responsibilities:Oversight of day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entriesPreparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsEnsure timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activitiesManagement of the yearly audit and tax compliance processEstablishment and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assetsEnsuring control over actual expenses vs Budget and participation in cash management position and forecastingProviding management with information vital to decision-making processesOversight of the use of property and accounting softwareKnowledge of preparing project profitability reports and percentage of completion methods of accountingCompliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and policiesContinuous assessment of accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes, policies, and proceduresRequirements:CA / CPA with 8-10 years of experience in the real estate/construction industryHighly organized with strong attention to detail and quality of deliverablesExcellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skillsMust have excellent work ethic, high integrity, and excellent follow-up skillsAbility to demonstrate critical thinking skills in decision makingExcellent analytical and quantitative skillsDemonstrated leadership and management skillsSuperior ability to track and meet deadlines, focused on overcoming obstaclesHigh level of computer skills, including extensive experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting systemsAbility to take initiative and manage teams effectively
