Linux System AdministratorJob Summary:Responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining high-performance Linux systems.Key Responsibilities:Server Administration: Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain Linux servers.Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency.Resource Utilization Tracking (CPU, RAM, Disk, Network): Track resource utilization across the infrastructure and implement measures to optimize usage.File System Management & RAID Configuration: Implement robust file system management and RAID configuration strategies to ensure data integrity.Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) VM Template Management & Deployment: Design and deploy virtual machine templates using VMware and Hyper-V technologies.Active Directory Management (User, Group, Computer Objects): Manage Active Directory objects, including user accounts, groups and computer objects.Domain Controller Setup & Troubleshooting: Setup and troubleshoot domain controllers to ensure smooth operation of the Active Directory environment.DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS, DFS Configuration: Configure DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS and DFS services to support business operations.Cluster Services Management (NFS, Autofs, NIS, LDAP): Manage cluster services, including NFS, Autofs, NIS and LDAP, to ensure high availability and scalability.Patch Management (Installation, Rollback, Hotfixes): Plan, install and manage patches to ensure the security and stability of the Linux systems.Backup & Recovery Management: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.Job Scheduling & Crontab Monitoring: Configure job scheduling and monitor crontab entries to automate repetitive tasks.Environment Variables & Registry Management: Manage environment variables and registry settings to ensure smooth operation of applications.Account Lifecycle Management (Password Vault, Permissions): Manage account lifecycles, including password vaults and permissions, to ensure secure access to resources.Security & Vulnerability Management: Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities to protect against potential threats.Server Build & Imaging (Physical & Virtual): Build and image physical and virtual servers to meet business requirements.Network Configuration & Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot network settings to ensure seamless communication between systems.IT Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and track IT assets to ensure efficient resource allocation.Requirements:6-10 years of experience in Linux administrationTechnical skills: Server administration, performance monitoring, etc.
