Job OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality data connectors that enable seamless integration with various systems.In this role, you will leverage your strong background in software engineering and experience in coding agents in critical use to develop production-quality code in popular languages like Python. Your understanding of relational and non-relational databases, metadata, catalog, and lineage will allow you to extract schemas and track table/column-level lineage from SQL, APIs, or system catalogs.Key Responsibilities:Design and Implement Scalable Data Pipelines: Ensure high-performance and efficient data processing by designing and implementing scalable data pipelines.Develop Custom Data Connectors: Develop custom data connectors from scratch, integrating multiple data sources and handling complex data transformations.Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.Requirements:Proven Experience in Building Data Connectors: Proven experience in building data connectors/integrators from scratch (not just configuring ETL pipelines and scripts).Strong Software Engineering Fundamentals: Strong software engineering fundamentals, including writing production-quality code in a popular language like Java, Go, Rust, but preferably Python.API Integration Expertise: API integration expertise, including REST/GraphQL clients with retry logic, rate limiting, pagination, and connection pooling.Database Systems Knowledge: Database systems knowledge, including hands-on experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake), NoSQL databases, and/or BI Tools.Metadata & Lineage Understanding: Metadata & lineage understanding, including extracting schemas and tracking table/column-level lineage from SQL, APIs, or system catalogs.
