For more info on BizAcuity visit - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Data Architect – Azure & Microsoft Stack Position Overview We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect with deep expertise in the Azure and Microsoft ecosystem to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade data solutions across hybrid environments. You will play a pivotal role in defining the data architecture strategy, leading complex data initiatives, and ensuring our data platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design Design and implement end-to-end data architectures leveraging Azure cloud and on-premises Microsoft technologies. Develop data strategy, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure data consistency, integrity, and availability. Create and maintain data models, architecture diagrams, and documentation for enterprise-wide visibility. Evaluate and recommend modern data platforms, tools, and integration patterns within the Microsoft ecosystem. Ensure architectural designs align with business priorities, scalability, and performance goals. Technical Leadership Lead the design and deployment of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms using: Azure Synapse Analytics Azure Data Lake Storage Azure SQL Database Azure Databricks Architect hybrid solutions integrating on-premises SQL Server with Azure services . Design ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and related technologies. Oversee data security, privacy, and compliance implementations (GDPR, ISO, SOC, etc.). Optimize database performance and establish backup, DR, and monitoring frameworks . Project Management & Delivery Lead data architecture projects from concept to production, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Collaborate with project managers to define scope, timelines, and deliverables. Manage risks, track dependencies, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Guide cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business partners. Business Partnership Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate data needs into technical designs. Present architectural recommendations and insights in business-friendly language . Conduct architecture reviews and drive data-driven decision-making across departments. Stay ahead of emerging Azure, data, and analytics trends to recommend innovative solutions. Required Qualifications Technical Skills 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or solution design roles. Expertise in Azure data services (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, SQL Database). Proficient in SQL Server (design, tuning, optimization, and administration). Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures , networking, and integration patterns. Hands-on experience with data modeling (dimensional, relational, NoSQL). Strong in SQL/T-SQL and one or more programming/scripting languages (Python, C#, PowerShell). Deep understanding of data governance, lineage, and security frameworks . Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD , and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for data solutions. Project Management & Delivery Proven success leading end-to-end data transformation programs . Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred. Business & Communication Exceptional ability to communicate complex data concepts to executive and business audiences. Strong business acumen with proven experience aligning technical solutions with business goals. Excellent presentation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable leading cross-functional teams . Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate. Experience with Power BI , DAX, and the broader Microsoft Analytics stack . Exposure to real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Event Hub). Familiarity with machine learning, AI, and predictive analytics integration . Hands-on experience with cloud migration and data modernization projects .
