Job Description -
Primary Skills (Technical Must Haves) •
Payroll Knowledge on countries like Dubai, South Africa, India, Morocco, Nigeria (APAC & MEA) Region.
• Managing 3-4 team members
• Aware of Laws of core competencies
• Payroll Compliance and Audit knowledge.
• Statutory Compliance knowledge of above said countries (few of them at least). Soft Skills required • Good Communication skills
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Stakeholder Management
• Analytical skills Payroll Processing:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees for APAC & MEA region Verify and reconcile timekeeping information and attendance records.
Compliance: Stay current with state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead the payroll team. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. System Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payroll software systems, Intouch, SAP and Oracle.
Audits and Reporting:
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review. Benefits Administration: Coordinate payroll-related aspects of employee benefits, such as insurance and retirement plans. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies. Provide excellent customer service to employees with payroll inquiries.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions. Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting for payroll expenses. Provide data for financial forecasting related to employee compensation. Communication: Communicate with various departments, including HR and finance, to ensure smooth coordination of payroll activities. Educate employees on payroll-related matters and policies.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in the payroll function. Implement best practices and stay abreast of industry trends.
Year-End Activities:
Manage year-end payroll activities, including Form-16 processing and TDS reporting. Collaboration with External Partners: Work with external vendors, such as tax agencies and auditors, to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
Ad Hoc Projects:
Participate in special projects related to payroll, as assigned by senior management.
'Education:
Commerce graduate with a Master's degree from London University.
Experience:
Managed a team of 4. Extensive experience in payroll across 20 countries (AU, NZ, India, APAC & MENA). Worked at a very high level on India payroll. Strong background in compliance and audit processes. Successfully led payroll enhancement and automation projects. Technical Skills: Proficient in ticketing tools, SAP, and ERP software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Areas for Improvement: Lacked detailed knowledge of India-specific payroll aspects, such as NPS and tax benefits.
Notice Period: 60 days, non-negotiable. Additional Comments: Exhibited excellent communication and leadership skills. Adaptable and quick to learn new systems and processes. Positive attitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
