Job OverviewCost analysts play a crucial role in helping businesses make informed financial decisions by analyzing and interpreting complex cost data.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.The key responsibilities of this position include:Transitioning business unit-level costing activities to a centralized finance departmentPerforming product costing activities within an ERP system (SAP) for markets with centralized costing activitiesEstablishing processes for analysis of variances (price & factory)Providing business insights and actionable items to reduce variances compared to established standardsKey Accountabilities and Activities:Single Point of Contact for SAP Product Costing: The analyst will be responsible for handling all product costing activities on SAP, including regular review of pending materials for cost release and liaison with markets for timely updates of standard costs.Accuracy of Standard Costs: The analyst will conduct reviews to ensure the accuracy of standard costs, reviewing and validating master data components that impact product costing, such as Bill of Materials, Routings, Costing Lot Size, and Procurement Keys.Operational Analysis: The analyst will analyze procurement transactions, identify causes for price variance, review exceptions and abnormal variances, and liaise with markets to take corrective action. Additionally, the analyst will perform factory variance analysis and consolidation, developing reports that provide insights into price and factory variances.Month Close Activities: The analyst will review gross stocks and reports that provide value of gross stock based on group accounting policy, calculate variance to be calculated based on group policies, adhere to standard methodology for calculation of provisions, and bring improvements in process as required.Ad Hoc Business Support: The analyst will perform deep dives into transactions and processes to identify issues that may be present and provide solutions for such issues. Additionally, the analyst will validate dashboards and reports, provide guidance to markets relating to standard processes and methodologies in areas related to costing and inventory valuation, and liaise with technology teams in resolution of issues with reports and processes.
