Platform Development EngineerWHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THIS ROLEEnd-to-end software development — from architecture and design throughimplementation, validation, and maintenance.Analyze system requirements and translate them into robust platform solutions.Collaborate across hardware, firmware, and OS teams to enable new x86 serverplatform features and capabilities.Design, implement, and debug software components in C and Python.Develop and enhance the FlashBlade//EXA Datanode platform, working closely withhardware, networking, storage, memory, and compute subsystems.Drive integration of new hardware technologies into the platform, ensuring performance,stability, and reliability.Participate in system bring-up, hardware qualification, and platform validation workflows.Support, maintain, and document software functionality to ensure long-term sustainabilityand maintainability.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSStrong ability and desire to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, and hands-onenvironment.Deep understanding of modern x86 server architectures — including CPU, memoryhierarchy, PCIe, BMC, BIOS, NICs, and HBAs.Expertise in OS–hardware interactions, kernel boot processes, and systeminitialization.Proven skills in debugging and root causing platform-level issues involvinghardware, firmware, and device drivers.Experience working with Linux systems, including kernel internals, low-levelconfiguration, and performance tuning.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with solid experience in algorithmicthinking and C/Python development.Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IPv4, IPv6) and OS networking stackintegration.Experience with PCIe devices, driver bring-up, and CPU/memory performanceoptimization.Knowledge of storage technologies (e.g., NVMe, SAS/SATA) is a plus but not required.Excellent debugging, instrumentation, and performance analysis abilities acrosshardware and software boundaries.10+ years of experience developing on Linux or other Unix-like environments at aproduct company.Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or ElectricalEngineering.Passion for building reliable, high-performance x86 platform software, learning newtechnologies, and working with world-class hardware.
