Job Duties

- Oversee and execute multiple valuation projects for financial reporting, tax, and transaction advisory purposes.
- Develop models to value various financial instruments and systematically analyze different business scenarios using techniques such as option pricing theory, fixed income and structured finance models, Monte Carlo simulation, Binomial and Trinomial Lattice models, statistical analysis, regression analysis, optimization, decision analysis, and other techniques from the financial engineering discipline.
- Determine fair value for complex structures including convertible and callable debt, interest rate derivatives, fixed income securities, total shareholder return (TSR), contingent considerations/earnouts, private company equity securities, options, warrants, preferred and common stock, share-based awards with market conditions (performance awards), and SPAC-related instruments like sponsor shares and private warrants.
- Exhibit strong skills in derivative pricing and financial modeling, with the capability to create both valuation and financial models based on a client's derivative financial asset or operational and financial business plan.
- Compose detailed narrative reports to support valuation analyses.
- Foster and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with BDO offices worldwide.
- Supervise, develop, and mentor professionals at the Associate and Senior Associate levels (for Assistant Manager).
- Conduct company, industry, and economic research.
- Document and ensure quality control of work products for assigned engagements.
- Archive work files in accordance with BDO Best Practices.
- Participate in external and internal client meetings.
- Provide periodic performance feedback and complete performance evaluations for assigned professionals (for Assistant Manager).
- Act as a Career Advisor to subordinate professionals (for Assistant Manager).

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, quantitative finance, other relevant field required.
- Master’s degree in mathematical finance, Mathematics of Finance, Financial Engineering, Computational Finance or Quantitative Finance, or a related technical discipline preferred

Experience:

Three (3) or more years of experience in valuation of complex financial instruments, prior valuations experience with a valuation firm preferred

Five (5) or more years of experience in valuation of complex financial instruments, prior valuations experience with a valuation firm preferred (For Assistant Manager)

License/Certifications:

CFA / FRM CPA / ASA or other certification preferred

Software:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required

Basic technical skills: Word, standard pdf tools

Prior experience with VBA, Python, R, Capital IQ, Crystal Ball, @Risk, or similar capability industry language / software, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Superior analytical skills with the ability to deconstruct complex issues

Ability to analyze and organize high volumes of data

Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details

Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment

Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel

Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
