We are looking for an experienced SDE-3 Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems powering our cloud-native cybersecurity platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Backend system architecture : Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and NoSQL systems. End-to-end delivery : Own and deliver complex backend modules, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency. Cloud integration : Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, following security and performance best practices. Security by design : Implement cybersecurity best practices, including secure API handling, encryption, and threat mitigation. Cross-functional collaboration : Partner with DevSecOps, frontend engineers, and product managers to deliver robust and secure features. Mentorship and code quality : Conduct code reviews, guide junior developers, and uphold high engineering standards. Security advocacy : Participate in secure code reviews, threat modeling, and contribute to the overall security posture of the product. REQUIREMENTS Experience : 8–12 years of strong backend development experience in product-based, fast-paced environments. Technical skills : Proficient in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and asynchronous programming models. Cloud expertise : Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and infrastructure best practices. Cybersecurity knowledge : Deep understanding of authentication/authorization flows, OWASP top 10, secure coding, and data privacy. Startup agility : Prior experience in early or growth-stage startups with a bias toward rapid development and problem-solving. Tooling : Familiarity with CI/CD, microservices architecture, Docker/Kubernetes is a big plus. Soft skills : Strong ownership mindset, effective communication, and team leadership. NICE TO HAVE Security engineering : Experience participating in security reviews and building systems with compliance in mind. Observability and performance : Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and optimization strategies. DevSecOps mindset : Understanding of how engineering decisions impact the product’s threat surface and operational risk.
