About this role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong database management skills to lead our database team and contribute to the development of our hybrid data platform.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. A strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems, as well as experience with database optimization techniques, is essential.Able to mentor and guide junior database administrators, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement database systems that meet business requirements and adhere to industry best practices.Ongoing monitoring and optimization of database performance to ensure efficient data access and system response times.Implementation and maintenance of data security measures, including access controls, data encryption, and regular security audits.Development and maintenance of database backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure the availability and integrity of our data assets.Collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data persistence strategies that support business objectives and data-driven initiatives.RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.8-10 years of experience in database administration roles, with a strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems.Expert knowledge of database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.Strong SQL and query tuning skills, experience with database optimization techniques.Strong understanding of data security and privacy best practices and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.Familiarity with cloud-based database services, such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.Familiarity with vector databases and embedding workflows, semantic search, and hybrid search strategies.Why Work Here?We offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where you can grow professionally and personally.
