Linux Repository SpecialistWe are seeking a highly skilled Linux repository specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Linux and be proficient in bash scripting, C, and Python.Job Description:The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our software repository by updating, upgrading, and patching it as needed.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and update the software repository using Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python.Compile and create software from source code.Keep track of software dependencies and ensure they are up-to-date.Patch and manage software patches as needed.Create and modify Makefiles as necessary.Monitor and stay current with CVEs and provide solutions.Maintain Changelog and other documentation.Provide bug fixes and review changes.Knowledge of CVS and Git is required.Connect with upstream developers for solutions if needed.Good troubleshooting skills are essential.A HUGE plus is knowledge of Slackware Linux, which will be prioritized over Redhat/Debian.Requirements:To be considered for this role, you should have:1-2 years of experience in Linux and related technologies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Fluency in English is mandatory.A good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility is mandatory for remote logins and work.Benefits:We offer a competitive compensation package, including:A part-time contract-based position (6 hours max).Renewable for another 6 months subject to performance.Remote work-from-home option.Others:Please note that employment gaps are okay as long as you have the necessary skillset.
