Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.  THE ROLE: We are looking for a highly skilled Ethernet QA Engineer  with 10+ years of hands-on experience in validating high-speed Ethernet (1G/10G/25G/40G/100G/XGBE) solutions across Linux environments. The ideal candidate will operate as a test lead, drive validation strategy, develop test content, triage complex issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure best-in-class quality for networking platforms.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead end-to-end Ethernet/XGBE validation for networking and storage platforms.Own test planning, execution, coverage analysis, and reporting.Perform detailed debug and triage for issues across firmware, OS, driver, and hardware layers.Develop robust test content, including new test scenarios, frameworks, and workflows.Drive automation for test execution using Python, Shell scripting, and CI workflows.Validate Ethernet PHY features, link training, auto-negotiation, FEC, SERDES, RDMA offloads, and other networking capabilities.Collaborate with BIOS, firmware, silicon, and OS teams to track issues to closure.Execute testing on Linux OS variants such as Ubuntu, Yocto, and custom distros.Ensure test readiness, resource planning, and mentoring of junior QA engineers.Required Skills & Experience10+ years of experience in networking or Ethernet validation.Strong expertise in Ethernet/XGBE testing, including PHY modules, MAC/PHY interactions, and high-speed link behavior.Hands-on experience with Linux OS environments (Ubuntu, Yocto).Ability to act as a test lead, driving validation independently with minimal guidance.Work from feature requirement specifications to design, write, and execute comprehensive test cases using modern test frameworks.Support test case development based on defined and extrapolated use cases.Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, packet flows, switching, routing, VLAN, L2/L3 features, offloads, firmware interaction.Strong debugging skills across OS logs, driver behavior, firmware responses, and hardware signals.Proficiency in automation using Python and Shell scripting.Experience with traffic generators (IXIA, Spirent), packet capture tools, and performance measurement tools.Exposure to BIOS and firmware technologies UEFI, EDKII, Coreboot (good to have).Strong communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Communication, or a related field.#LI-SGBenefits offered are described:  AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
