Job Title: Data Engineer Location: BangaloreExperience: 2–6 yearsType: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are building a next-generation investment platform that uses high-quality market data and clear, rule-based logic to select securities and build portfolios.Your job is to create the full data foundation from collecting and cleaning data to organising, labelling, and preparing it for our scoring engine and portfolio tools. You will work closely with the founders to turn raw financial data into structured, usable inputs.This is a fast-growing industry worth Millions of dollars globally, with data-driven investing becoming a major part of how modern portfolios are built. But very few people have the skills needed for financial data engineering, so opportunities in this space are limited making this role rare and high-impact.This role is data engineering + financial analytics💼 Key Responsibilities1. Data Ingestion & ETL -Build automated pipelines to collect:• holdings disclosures• company reports and documents• Clean, transform, and maintain structured datasets (SQL/Parquet)2. PDF Parsing & Extraction- Use Azure Document Intelligence Studio (or similar tools) to extract structured data from:• disclosures• factsheets• company documents• Handle varying document formats and ensure consistent output.3. Custom Industry Classification• Develop and maintain our proprietary industry/sector taxonomy.• Map all securities into the correct industry categories using rules and structured classification logic.4. Feature Engineering (High Level - Important)• Create relevant equity-level and portfolio-level features required for scoring and analytics.• Maintain feature pipelines and ensure data quality and consistency.5. Scoring Engine Inputs & Portfolio Analytics• Prepare structured inputs for the scoring engine based on proprietary logic.• Support the team in running backtests, sensitivity analyses, and ranking stability tests.6. API Integration & Data Exposure• Work with backend engineers to expose:• security scores• portfolio analytics outputs• sector/industry classifications• Ensure data is optimized for integration with app and web platforms.Required Skills & Qualifications - Technical Skills (Must-Have)• Strong Python (pandas, numpy, regex)• SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL/MySQL)• Experience with Azure Document Intelligence / AWS Textract / GCP Document AI• Strong data cleaning & ETL pipeline development• Ability to convert unstructured PDFs into structured datasets• Comfortable with time-series and financial data handlingBonus SkillsExposure to wealthtech or investment analyticsFamiliarity with factor models or ranking systemsExperience with APIs, FastAPI/FlaskExperience with Docker or workflow orchestration tools📩 How to ApplySend your resume + GitHub to mdivyareddy99@gmail.comOnce your application is short-listed, you'll receive an assessment email, upon successful submission you'll proceed with the final round.Subject: Application – Data EngineerPlease save the file under your name.
