We seek individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to join us on this exciting journey.Position: Data Scientist (Risk strategy, SME)About the roleAs Data Scientist in the credit risk strategy team, you will leverage creative and critical thinking skills to develop best-in-class risk management strategies impacting clients’ business.This role enables alignment with market trends by improving turnaround time for developing and implementing risk strategies, allowing quicker iterations and broader coverage in addressing business challenges through scientific methods.The core KPIs include additional revenue generated and costs saved from releases. This role supports compliance, documentation, and knowledge sharing in risk strategies.What you’ll doDevelop, validate and deploy risk management strategies using sophisticated data analytics and domain expertiseExtract and explore data, validate data integrity, perform ad hoc analysis, evaluate new data sources for strategy developmentMaintain robust documentation of approach and techniques used, including objectives, assumptions, performance, weaknesses, and limitationsBe ready to adapt to new tools/libraries/technologies/platformsActively partner with engineers to validate & deploy scalable solutionsCollaborate to gather insight from partners across the organizationFurther develop expertise in data science and engineering through self-study, project exposure and guidance of senior team membersWhat you’ll bringDegree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, data science, engineering, economics, mathematics, etc.). Advanced degree preferred3+ years of Data Science experience2+ years in financial servicesExperience building and implementing risk strategies in productionDeep understanding of segmentation techniques such as decision treesExperience in banking sector with exposure to risk management analyticsProficient with PythonProficient with SQLPractical experience using Spark is a plusUnderstanding of statistical modeling techniques is a plusTechnical understanding of algorithm complexity, probability & statisticsSelf-driven with an aptitude for independent research & problem-solvingAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential
