Job Location: Hyderabad & BangaloreJOB PURPOSE:DP World seeks ambitious individuals aspiring to build the next-generation services that will redefine the current supply chain. The job holder will be working with a team of engineers in India. We are looking for talented Software Engineers to design and build a new product, ground-up. In Bangalore, we are building some of the key services for our blockchain solution. DP World is investing in the next generation of supply chain solutions. You’ll be working with engineers using the latest technologies to create new services as well as enabling customers to use existing supply chain solutions in new and exciting ways. This means there are a lot of new areas we will be exploring, lots of new design and research, and lots of new code.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Understand and be a champion of DP World’s business and product strategyHave a deep understanding, both low level and high level, across a swathe of technologiesHave built and helped build business systems from the ground up, and having scaled themWhile being strategic, provide a very ‘Hands-on’ technical leadership and mentoring for engineersOwn the software design, architecture and operational excellence across the cargoes productsWork with product management and business heads to rapidly iterate on features and grow the business.Actively seek to prevent redundancies, while allowing that where appropriate in order to accomplish an effective balance between short term and long term goalsEstablish and promote software design and development guidelines, deployment strategies, best practices, and standardsEnsure the security-first approach during the design & development of applications Adhere to all the DP World policies including information securityOTHERResponsible for the indirect management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policiesPerform other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSBachelors in Computer Science or related field from a reputed institution. Masters degree is a plus. Around 15 years of experience in the software development field, working across a wide swathe of technologies 5-10 years of experience leading the architecture and design function in an organization, and managing enterprise architectureAbility to take complex problems and simplify them elegantly. Meet time to market requirements of the business while not compromising software design principles.Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate software choices and tradeoffs clearly and persuasivelyDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple organizations and drive alignmentAbility to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced environment, working on ambiguous and challenging projectsRelentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectationsExperience with tools and standards of software development, testing, deployment and operational excellence
