Senior Programme Associate - Just Transition The International Forum for Environment, Sustainability & Technology (iFOREST), is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to support & lead our flagship programme – Just Transition, which will be based in Noida. Required Experience: 5 - 8 years (minimum) About iFOREST iFOREST is an independent, not-for-profit research and innovation organization established in 2019. Our mission is to identify, promote, and scale up solutions for critical environment development challenges in India and other developing regions across Asia and Africa. We focus on regional priorities to accelerate environmental actions at the sub-national level while influencing national policies and plans to support these efforts. By leveraging our resources and expertise, we aim to address regional needs, enhance national action, and contribute to global solutions. Our work involves independent, evidence-based research, developing innovative solutions, convening stakeholders to build consensus, and partnering with think tanks, civil society organizations, government agencies, philanthropies, and industry leaders. About Just Transition Just Transition programme is a flagship initiative of iFOREST that is strongly focused on cutting-edge research and multi-stakeholder engagement to achieve a green transition and green growth that is socially responsible, environmentally sustainable, and economically viable. The work and engagement on just transition of iFOREST is deeply rooted in regional priorities to strengthen and accelerate just transition and climate change action at the sub-national level (given the contextualization and local focus that the issue requires), and to enable and improve national policies and plans to support it. Key responsibilities Research and development of outputs Support and oversee quantitative and qualitative research work, including primary research. Contribute to designing research assignments, including developing research strategy and methodology as well as identifying specific activities and tasks. Conduct in-depth primary and secondary research including quantitative and qualitative assessments. Responsible for overall the development of materials for dissemination of research findings, such an impactful presentation, material decks, opinion articles etc. Stakeholder engagement Design and manage a comprehensive outreach strategy for the programme as well as for projects therein. Enable the generation of policy-research partnerships with government, industry and other stakeholders. Author and review articles and other forms of communication materials suitable for the public, government stakeholders, and donors. Build and leverage relationships to design and conduct roundtables, convenings, and report release meetings with government, industry, civil society, media, etc. Other duties Day-to-day team management and guidance. Manage project budgets. Support the development of proposals in coordination with the program directors. Contribute to the institution’s brand building by representing iFOREST on various high-level public platforms. Required Skills and Competencies Knowledge and clear understanding of key issues and developments just transition, industrial transitions, climate change and related matters. Proven skills in socio–economic, analytical resources. Strong research aptitude with a proven track record. Experience undertaking and guiding primary research. Proven track record of high-level engagement with government and industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deliver quality outputs as per goals and targets. Willingness to take up responsibilities as per the organizational need and remain in nimble. Experience and track record of managing high-quality teams. Educational Qualification Master's in Development Economics/Public Policy/ Applied Economics Bachelors in Engineering or Bachelors in Economics (development Economics) Remuneration Competitive salary as per the candidate’s experience and proficiency.
