Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior AWS Engineer with 3+ years of IT experience, particularly in leveraging AWS services for cloud infrastructure and application development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS deployment and management services, as well as containerization using Kubernetes and Docker. This role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud solutions are secure, reliable, and efficient. Note: Working hours will include overlap with the UK shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and program applications in an AWS cloud environment for large, regulated businesses.
  • Utilize AWS services for compute, storage, database, and application integration.
  • Manage AWS deployment and management services effectively.
  • Containerize applications using Kubernetes and Docker to streamline deployment.
  • Build sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure, with a focus on automating production environments.
  • Develop seamless, automated build pipelines for Release Management across all environments.
  • Identify appropriate AWS services to meet specific technical requirements.
  • Apply recommended best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the AWS platform.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, system tests, and acceptance tests.
  • Lead on-prem to cloud migration activities, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • (Good to have) Support disaster recovery (DR) setup, digital twin implementations, and automation initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of IT experience, with a strong focus on AWS services and cloud architecture.
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS deployment and management services.
  • Extensive experience in containerizing applications with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of Git for source code control and deployment pipeline integration.
  • Experience building automated infrastructure in real-world production environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language, including associated frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with pharma-related applications, specifically Genedata and D360 (Certara), is preferable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
