Backend Software Engineer PositionWe are looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer who has a strong background in building scalable, user-focused features and maintaining high-performance platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in Ruby on Rails development, relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and be proficient with modern backend technologies such as Sidekiq, RSpec, and Webpack.The successful candidate will contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the full stack, manage framework upgrades, dependencies, and overall application health, work effectively with data storage systems such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Amazon S3, identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues, maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automation, write unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure code reliability, and ensure delivered features meet business requirements and technical specifications.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the full stackManage framework upgrades, dependencies, and overall application healthWork effectively with data storage systems such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Amazon S3Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issuesMaintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automationWrite unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure code reliabilityEnsure delivered features meet business requirements and technical specificationsRequirements:Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and idiomatic Ruby developmentStrong experience with modern backend development using Ruby on Rails and SidekiqSolid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQLHands-on experience with background job processing tools like SidekiqFamiliarity with Bundler, Yarn, Rake, and WebpackStrong grasp of object-oriented programming and RESTful APIsExperience with testing frameworks: RSpec (backend)Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, and KubernetesNice to Have:Experience with Python or other scripting languagesFamiliarity with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code principlesExposure to dbt or Snowflake for data transformation and warehousing
