Bookkeeper Role OverviewWe're seeking a highly organized and detail-focused bookkeeper to manage our financial records with accuracy and efficiency. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for daily bookkeeping tasks using Xero, ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations and HMRC guidelines.The ideal candidate will have 2-3+ years of experience in bookkeeping (UK-based work preferred) and be fully proficient in Xero. AAT qualification or completion of a recognized UK bookkeeping course is essential. Strong knowledge of UK tax rules, expense categories, and accounting standards is also required.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily bookkeeping using Xero, including recording and categorizing expenses, petty cash, and receiptsRaising and generating invoices and ensuring correct reconciliationLinking and reconciling bank feeds, Stripe, PayPal, and other platformsAttaching invoices and documents to Xero entries with accurate referencesEnsuring all referencing is clear and traceable – from software to bank and vice versaManaging the invoice process from creation to tracking and paymentRegularly reconciling transactions to keep books up to dateRequirementsStrong knowledge of UK tax rules, expense categories, and accounting standardsHighly organized, accurate, and able to triple-check your workAble to allocate Stripe payments accurately – even when received in batchesWork well independently, meet deadlines, and communicate professionallyBenefitsFull-time, remote role (40 hours/week)Ongoing support, training, and developmentCalm, supportive team with clear systemsOpportunity to grow into a senior finance role over time
