Job Description: As a resident DERMS Engineer in Saudi Arabia, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing advanced energy management systems focused on distribution networks. Your work will help optimize grid performance, integrate renewable energy sources, and enhance overall system reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain DERMS solutions to optimize the performance of distribution networks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DERMS with existing infrastructure and new technologies.
  • Develop and deploy algorithms for real-time energy management, including demand response and distributed energy resource (DER) integration.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy management and grid operations.
  • Support the integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems into the distribution network.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DERMS-related issues and incidents.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and technical specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience with over 5 years in DERMS, smart grid technologies, or similar energy management systems.
  • Strong understanding of distribution network operations and grid management.
  • Experience with energy modeling and simulation tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python or Java) and software development practices.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols and standards used in energy systems (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3).
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy storage solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SCADA systems and data analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in the context of energy management.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and big data technologies.
