Linux Systems Specialist

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Linux Systems Specialist. This role will involve providing technical leadership and expertise in the administration, management, and maintenance of Linux systems.Key Responsibilities:Server Administration: Install, configure, and manage Linux servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.Resource Utilization Tracking: Monitor and manage CPU, RAM, disk, and network resource utilization to ensure efficient use of system resources.File System Management and RAID Configuration: Configure and manage file systems, including RAID configurations, to ensure data integrity and availability.Virtualization and Cloud Services: Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using VMware and Hyper-V, as well as cloud-based services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.Active Directory Management: Manage user, group, and computer objects within Active Directory to ensure secure and efficient access to system resources.Domain Controller Setup and Troubleshooting: Set up and troubleshoot domain controllers to ensure seamless integration with Active Directory.DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS, DFS Configuration: Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS, and DFS services to ensure reliable and efficient communication between systems.Cluster Services Management: Design, deploy, and manage cluster services, including NFS, Autofs, NIS, LDAP, and others, to ensure high availability and scalability.Patch Management: Plan, implement, and monitor patch management processes to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.Backup and Recovery Management: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of system failure or data loss.Job Scheduling and Crontab Monitoring: Configure and manage job scheduling and crontab monitoring tools to ensure efficient and automated task execution.Environment Variables and Registry Management: Manage environment variables and registry settings to ensure optimal system configuration and performance.Account Lifecycle Management: Develop and implement account lifecycle management processes to ensure secure and efficient access to system resources.Security and Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.Server Build and Imaging: Design, build, and image physical and virtual servers to ensure consistent and reliable system deployment.Network Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot network settings to ensure reliable and efficient communication between systems.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in Linux system administration.Expert-level knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.Knowledge of cloud-based services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.Familiarity with Active Directory and domain controller setup and troubleshooting.Experience with DNS, DHCP, IIS, SMTP, WINS, and DFS configuration and management.Knowledge of cluster services, including NFS, Autofs, NIS, LDAP, and others.Experience with patch management and backup and recovery processes.Strong understanding of job scheduling and crontab monitoring tools.Familiarity with environment variables and registry management.Experience with account lifecycle management and security and vulnerability assessment.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Collaborative and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career growth and advancement.
