Role Overview

As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll be at the heart of building our digital health platforms. You’ll work on both backend and frontend development, collaborating with our tech and product teams to create seamless, efficient, and scalable solutions. This role offers a pathway to a full-time position after six months based on performance, giving you the chance to grow as an early team member in a high-impact startup environment.

Wundrsight Health is a venture-funded digital health startup redefining mental healthcare with innovative digital therapeutics powered by medical extended reality (AR/VR/XR). We’re on a mission to create scalable, medication-free, and personalized mental health solutions that improve outcomes for individuals and organizations alike.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead backend development efforts for our digital health platforms.
  • Collaborate with the frontend team to ensure seamless integration.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient backend architectures using modern tools and frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for smooth communication between systems.
  • Contribute to database design and management, focusing on scalability and performance.
  • Assist in frontend development tasks as needed using React Native.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high standards and best practices are upheld.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UI/UX, clinical, and product teams) to deliver high-quality software solutions.


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in software development, including internships, in product-based companies focusing on full-stack or backend JavaScript roles.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) stack.
  • Strong understanding of backend development principles and practices.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with database management systems, particularly MongoDB.
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for healthcare technology and mental health innovations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Exposure to LLM/AI model building, updating, and deployment.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Docker and Jenkins.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.
  • Interest in or experience with LLM, Speech-to-text models
