Data Governance Functional Lead JobThe role of a Data Governance Functional Lead is pivotal in driving enterprise-level data governance initiatives across multiple business domains. This position focuses on establishing robust governance frameworks, facilitating strategic business workshops, and partnering with technology teams to operationalize governance using specialized tools and platforms.Lead Data Governance Initiatives: Design, implement, and institutionalize data governance frameworks, policies, and processes across business units. Develop and maintain comprehensive data governance roadmaps to align with organizational objectives.Facilitate Business Workshops: Conduct business workshops with enterprise clients to define governance objectives, roles, and ownership models. Foster collaboration among stakeholders to drive governance adoption and maturity.Establish Governance Council: Help set up and formalize the Data Governance Council — document charters, roles, responsibilities, and governance operating models. Ensure clear lines of communication and decision-making processes.Collaborate with Technical Teams: Work with data engineering, architecture, and security teams to implement governance controls using platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Informatica. Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement scalable data governance solutions.Drive AI Governance: Implement and monitor AI governance principles ensuring compliance, ethical AI use, and adherence to organizational policies. Develop and maintain AI governance standards to ensure alignment with industry best practices.Business Alignment: Understand diverse business domains — Real Estate, Retail, E-Commerce, Investment Holding, Hospitality & Entertainment, and Government Entities — to align governance frameworks with business priorities. Identify business opportunities and risks associated with data governance initiatives.Compliance & Security: Ensure all governance processes align with Microsoft Security and Compliance Frameworks, regulatory standards, and enterprise risk guidelines. Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance and security reports.Stakeholder Management: Partner with senior business leaders, data owners, and IT teams to drive governance adoption and maturity. Foster open communication channels and provide regular updates on governance initiatives.
