Job Title: Senior Data Scientist About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our data science organization, you will be responsible for developing production-grade predictive models using machine learning (ML) to detect early warning signals in high-frequency vehicle sensor data. Key Responsibilities: Data Science: Develop predictive models using ML to detect early warning signals in high-frequency vehicle sensor data. ETL Workflows: Design and maintain ETL workflows to ingest terabytes of IoT data from vehicle systems, partnering with engineering for deployment and monitoring. Innovation: Innovate with Generative AI by building components that power LLM-based conversational intelligence for fleet managers and vehicle technicians. Knowledge Translation: Translate vehicle mechanics knowledge into high-value features, partnering with product teams to ground models in real-world behavior. Tech Standards: Elevate technical standards through best practices for reproducibility, testing, model monitoring, and continuous improvement. Challenges: Sensor Fusion Complexity: Integrate CAN-bus streams with IoT feeds, historical maintenance logs, and real-world context. Scale & Latency: Deliver real-time predictions across hundreds of vehicles with minimal false positives. Regulatory & Safety Constraints: Ensure models comply with industry standards and support safety-critical decision-making. Requirements: Data Science Experience: 3+ years in data science with at least 2 years in vehicle telematics, Industrial IoT, or automotive diagnostics. Technical Skills: Expertise in Python, ML, SQL/NoSQL, and data streaming platforms, deployment workflows - containerization, CI/CD, model tracking, and observability. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with CAN-bus protocols (J1939, OBD-II), telematics standards, and core vehicle systems like engine, transmission, and exhaust.
