What you will do

GTT (Group Truck Technology) Vehicle technology, Thermal Management team is looking for an energetic and skilled aspirant as Sr. Engineer Cooling System Components. Who are you?

We believe you are a person with a genuine interest in technology as well as people. An experienced Mechatronic Thermal Components engineer with the capability to lead technical product development, and at the same time enjoy establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
You design and develop the optimal thermal components based on product and system vehicle requirements and plan activities with clear timing for those with a cross-functional team and make sure the planned solution will be delivered in the committed time and budget meeting the agreed performance and quality level. You undertake everything with drive and perseverance while showing consistency between words and actions. Flexibility and openness to change are necessary for the fast-moving environment where we act, and continuous improvement comes naturally to you.

Your Activities

As a Senior Engineer, you will have opportunities to work in projects ranging from advanced engineering to start cost level of projects.

Responsible to design and develop components related to Heating & Cooling systemOpportunities to take up Engineering task leader &/ Component owner role for some of Cooling components like Cooling package, e-Viscous Fan, Fan Shroud, Fan Hub, Fan Ring, Expansion tank, Recirculation shields, Bugnet, ECU cooling and other thermal management components…Opportunities to initiate and lead Advanced Engineering workAs a component development engineer, you will interact with system architects and simulation analysts to contribute the component performance data and ensure to align the requirements set by system engineers and architectsResponsibility of QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost & Feature) in projects we deliverLead both cross-functional team and supplier in development of designed concepts.To follow up quality status, run PIL and CPI cases and participate in Design Reviews, risk and root cause analysisDefine level 4 (component/system) ti me plan including the most important cross functional milestones using APQP as the supporting processTake full engineering responsibility, independently deliver the tasks in Cooling Tech area as well as guide colleagues within Cooling system team, Integrate deliveries from others and secure quality and readiness before releaseAccountable to manage design and development using our mandatory Q-Tools like, D-FMEA, S-FMEA(contribute), Risk register, DFA(Manufacturing) & DFAM(After Market)Your role is cross-functional, which means you will work in projects within the whole Volvo GTT organization and closely collaborate with global cross functional teams.

Your role will strengthen our Global Thermal Management Sub-Stream, contribute to our Volvo Group Vision

Qualification

BE /ME in Thermal Systems/Mechatronics Engineering/Equivalent

Good knowledge of the new product development life cycle and change management activities for product maintenance

Good knowledge in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics

Structured way of working and ability to deliver on complex tasks with excellence

You are a team player, self-driven with positive, global, and problem-solving mind-set and you possess excellent communication skills

Experience in latest driveline technologies (H2 ICE, e-MOB, Fuel Cell), 1D Simulations and material selection is a Merit

Knowledge in mechatronics is an added advantage

Knowledge in Volvo GTT development process and tools is a plus

Working knowledge of overall truck thermal management and especially Cooling system is a plus

Working experience in testing & simulation of vehicle thermal management area is a plus

Ability to work in a multi cultural global environment

Willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities

Good in compiling and presenting information verbally and in writing
