Job Summary:
The Yardi Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the Yardi property management software for affordable housing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of Yardi functionalities, with a focus on the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and affordable housing regulations. The Yardi Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate data entry, compliance, reporting, and overall system efficiency for affordable housing properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Yardi System Management:
- Manage the daily operations of Yardi software to ensure smooth workflow across affordable housing portfolios.
- Set up and maintain property, tenant, and financial records within the Yardi system to ensure compliance with LIHTC and other affordable housing guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Yardi-related issues for property managers and leasing teams.
Income Verification & Compliance:
- Utilize Yardi to conduct detailed income verifications for tenants to ensure LIHTC compliance.
- Automate and streamline tenant recertifications, income calculations, and compliance reporting using Yardi’s functionalities.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure timely and accurate certification of tenant records.
Reporting & Data Management:
- Generate and analyze compliance, financial, and operational reports through Yardi to support business decision-making.
- Ensure all data entered into Yardi is accurate and up to date for reporting to regulatory bodies.
- Assist in preparing data for internal and external audits related to LIHTC and affordable housing regulations.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with property managers, leasing teams, and compliance staff to support their use of Yardi for day-to-day operations.
- Provide Yardi system training and support to on-site and remote teams to enhance their understanding and productivity.
- Collaborate with IT and Yardi support teams to implement system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
System Enhancements & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to enhance Yardi workflows and automate repetitive processes related to affordable housing.
- Stay updated on new Yardi functionalities and implement best practices for system optimization.
- Recommend and assist in the development of custom reports, forms, and dashboards to improve property management efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Yardi property management software, with a focus on affordable housing and LIHTC compliance.
- Strong understanding of affordable housing operations, including income verification, tenant certifications, and compliance reporting.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient in Yardi and its various modules, especially as it relates to affordable housing management.
- In-depth knowledge of LIHTC regulations and affordable housing guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Certifications:
- Certifications such as Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) or equivalent are desirable but not required.
