Job OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned data professional to lead the implementation and governance of our enterprise data catalog. As the primary Data Steward, you will be responsible for setting up and managing our data assets to ensure they are discoverable, trustworthy, and well-documented for business and technical users across the organization.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data analytics roles and hands-on experience with Alation or similar enterprise data catalog platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation and operationalization of Alation across the organization.Catalog critical datasets, data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and metrics in collaboration with Data Engineering, BI, and Business teams.Perform metadata curation, including writing and validating business definitions, technical descriptions, lineage, and data usage notes.Profile datasets using SQL to understand structure, quality, and relationships and ensure accurate documentation.Requirements7-10 years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data analytics roles.Hands-on experience with Alation or similar enterprise data catalog platforms.Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, analyze, and validate large datasets.
