Specializing in both design systems and accessibility, you will be a key contributor in ensuring that our digital products are not only aesthetically pleasing but also universally accessible. You will work closely as part of our Accessibility and Design Systems Center of Excellence and development teams to integrate best practices in both design systems and accessibility, ensuring that our products are user-friendly, cohesive, and inclusive.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design System Integration: Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system that encompasses design guidelines, components, and patterns, with a strong focus on accessibility principles.
  • Accessibility Champion: Advocate for accessibility within the design team, fostering awareness and understanding of the importance of inclusive design.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to seamlessly embed design system and accessibility considerations into the product development process.
  • User-Centered Approach: Conduct user research, usability testing, and accessibility evaluations to identify and address issues while gathering valuable user feedback.
  • Education and Training: Educate team members on the benefits of design systems and accessibility, offering training in how to implement these principles effectively.
  • Compliance: Stay current with accessibility regulations and standards, ensuring that our digital assets align with legal requirements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the design system, encompassing both accessibility guidelines and design best practices.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and design samples to test and iterate on accessible design solutions.
  • User Feedback Integration: Actively seek and incorporate feedback from users with disabilities to continually enhance the accessibility of our products.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in design system development and accessibility integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 and others
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Experience with usability testing and user research.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and an understanding of the challenges faced by users with disabilities.
  • Previously worked as a senior individual contributor in UX or product design.
  • First-hand experience in designing accessible experiences.
  • Experience applying design thinking methodologies and agile within product design teams.
