Job Description:We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate a high-performing offshore squad of data engineering contractors for our higher education client.You will serve as the primary point of contact between the offshore team and U.S.-based leadership, ensuring seamless execution of data engineering projects.Role Responsibilities:Manage multiple India-based squads, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance managementFoster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the squadOversee onboarding and skill development for new team membersAlign squad priorities with U.S.-based data engineering leadership and product stakeholders, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear communication of technical requirements and deliverablesServe as the primary liaison between offshore squads and U.S. teams, proactively addressing blockers and ensuring alignment on timelines and expectationsPartner with U.S. data and analytics engineering leaders to translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, robust data solutionsOversee the full Agile delivery lifecycle for data engineering projects, including planning, backlog grooming, estimation, sprint execution, and release coordinationMonitor project milestones, proactively surface and resolve risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality data solutionsDrive continuous improvement in squad Agile practices and delivery velocityParticipate in architecture and design reviews for data pipelines, data models, and cloud infrastructureAssist with code reviews and troubleshootingGuide the squad in troubleshooting complex data pipeline issues, performance tuning, and implementation best practicesRequired Skills and Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will require:8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related technical roles4+ years of experience leading or managing distributed/global data engineering teams or squadsA proven track record of managing complex data engineering projects from discovery through deploymentHands-on expertise in SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DBT, Python, Cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS), Data modeling, ETL, data pipeline design, BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, GoodData), and analytics engineering best practicesA deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience running Agile ceremonies for data engineering teamsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesBenefits:We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, a culture focused on talent development, opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies, and an inclusive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.We support hybrid work and flexible hours to fit diverse lifestyles and have an accessibility-friendly office with ergonomic setups and assistive technologies to support employees with physical disabilities.],
