Network Engineer

Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and support our organization’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewall management, wireless networks, and network security, along with strong troubleshooting and documentation skills. This role involves working closely with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the network.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork & Security OperationsInstall, configure, and troubleshoot Firewalls (Fortigate / Sophos) including:Interfaces, routing, NAT, and security policiesVPNs (SSL VPN, Site-to-Site VPN)UTM features such as Web Filtering, Application Control, and IPSInstall, configure, and troubleshoot Switches, including:VLANs, trunking, VLAN interfacesRouting, DHCP, port security, and spanning tree protocolsManage and support Routers, including:Static and dynamic routingRouting protocols such as OSPF and BGPConfigure and support wireless access points and wireless controllersUnderstand and manage different types of internet connectivity and configurationsMonitoring, Troubleshooting & OptimizationMonitor network performance using tools such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWindsPerform network troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and resolve common and complex network issuesProactively suggest and implement improvements to network performance, capacity, scalability, and reliabilityCloud & SecurityBasic to intermediate knowledge of cloud networking and security in:Microsoft AzureAmazon Web Services (AWS)Knowledge of WAF (Web Application Firewall) solutions is an added advantageIT Service Management & ComplianceFamiliarity with ITIL processes, including change management, incident management, problem management, and service requestsDocument network configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance with industry standardsGeneral ResponsibilitiesMaintain and regularly update network configuration documentsMaintain IT assets, software licenses, and subscriptionsCoordinate with vendors and manage external support engagementsEnsure adherence to SLAs and perform timely escalations when requiredLog and manage incidents, service requests, and change requests in the helpdesk toolProvide after-hours support during emergencies and perform occasional weekend maintenance activitiesRequired Skills & CompetenciesExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skillsProven experience as a Network Administrator, Network Technician, or similar roleStrong knowledge of Routing, Switching, Firewalls, and Wireless networksGood reporting and documentation skillsExceptional organizational and time-management abilitiesVery good verbal and written communication skills.
