Job OverviewThis is a high-profile opportunity for a skilled Network Development Engineer to join our global team.As a key member of our Network Operations & Reliability Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting cloud infrastructure services for our hosted tenants.Your top priority will be ensuring site reliability, performance, and security while leading migration efforts to the next generation of cloud infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop metrics for service health monitoringImplement pre-defined work instructions for safe delivery in production environmentsPlan and execute network changes as neededDesign and develop scripts and tools in Python or other languages to efficiently perform various network changesAutomate manual processes using APIs and Python or other object-oriented languagesParticipate in weekly on-call rotation and occasional weekend coverage as part of a globally distributed on-call teamDocument corrective actions to prevent incident recurrenceSupport Cloud-based Network SaaS components according to associated SLAs/OLAsCollaborate with peers on automation and innovation initiativesProactively address production environment issues in partnership with the Oracle Global Operations CenterRequirements6+ years professional experience in carrier-grade IP-based ISP, webscale, on-prem datacenter, and cloud-provider network environmentsBachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent practical experienceDemonstrated progressive increase in role-specific responsibilities and associated complexitiesAdvanced knowledge of multiple network operating systems, including Cisco IOS/NX-OS, and TMOSOperational experience with internet routing protocols and conceptsAdvanced-level automation and DevOps optimization experience, including proficiency in multiple scripting languagesAdvanced-level knowledge of firewall technologies and Layer 4-7 protocolsExperience in cloud environment support of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and LBaaS offeringsExperience in capacity management, traffic engineering, and performance optimizationPreferred Skills and Experience5+ years of experience performing peering, network design, customer turnup, provisioning, migration, and decommissioning1-2+ years of experience in Cloud-based Network service design and managementExperience with Oracle Database, SQL Server, MySQL, or PLSQLExperience in Traffic Management and Load balancing technologiesExperience supporting DNS infrastructure servicesExperience operating in a Linux/Unix environment3+ years of experience translating and managing Incident to Problem Management workflow through process automation, defect cataloging, data warehousing, reporting, and analyticsPractical experience with Apex, Oracle BI, Grafana, or Power BI for system analytics and reportingExperience with network system change management and release management programsQualifications for External CandidatesCareer Level - IC4
