Senior Director LegalThe role of Senior Director Legal (India) serves as the legal and compliance leader for India operations, responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance, and governance matters. The focus is on ensuring regulatory compliance, providing pragmatic legal advice to business functions, reviewing commercial and corporate documentation, and supporting a global legal framework.This leadership position requires key responsibilities including:Serving as the legal representative for India operations, ensuring alignment with global legal and compliance objectives.Supporting the Global Chief Legal Officer on regional initiatives, compliance rollouts, and corporate structuring activities.Providing risk-based, business-oriented legal guidance to leadership and operational teams.Employment Law & HR Support:Advising HR and management on employee relations, contracts, policies, and disciplinary actions.Ensuring employment documentation and practices are fully compliant with Indian labor, employment, and data protection laws.Partnering with HR and regional legal to support workforce transitions, investigations, and terminations.Corporate, Regulatory Compliance:Ensuring compliance with the Companies Act, labor and employment laws, SEZ/IT Park regulations, and outsourcing-related rules and regulations.Overseeing corporate secretarial compliance, legal filings, and board documentation for all Indian entities.Monitoring outsourcing and data transfer regulations, ensuring that India operations meet global client and data security expectations.Overseeing policy development, internal compliance programs, and local regulatory reporting.Partnering with operations and compliance teams to implement risk mitigation measures for regulatory audits, inspections, and client due diligence.Data Protection & Cross-Border Compliance:Ensuring adherence to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and global privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).Collaborating with Information Security and Global Privacy teams to ensure lawful cross-border data transfer practices.Contract Review & Negotiation:Reviewing and revising client and vendor MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, and related agreements to ensure compliance with legal and commercial standards.Identifying key risk areas, proposing mitigation strategies, and providing clear recommendations to commercial and operations teams.Ensuring global contract templates, playbooks, and other legal resources are appropriately adapted for India, and ensuring all Company contracts adhere to applicable guidelines and delegations of authority.
