Job Title: Mortgage Operations LeadAbout the Role:This leadership position oversees a team of underwriters who review and approve mortgage applications. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in underwriting US residential mortgages.Knowledge of the US Mortgage Industry with Mortgage underwriting experience is required.The ideal candidate should have knowledge of different types of mortgage and its functioning, as well as the ability to read various origination documents.Good communication skills (Written and Verbal) are necessary to understand and communicate with vendors/clients.Strong Customer Service Skills, Negotiations Skills and Leadership skills are required.Detail Oriented with good analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on the situation is crucial.The ability to analyze numbers and reconcile data is also essential.Experience with reporting and analysis is preferred.Good email etiquette is necessary.The ability to handle and accomplish multiple tasks and resolve issues effectively is required.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.The ability to effectively use a computer and be competent with MS office applications is necessary.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a group of associates to meet all SLA's relative to any and all functions in the Mortgage underwriting area.Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports to ensure seamless operations.Coordinate activities of the department with the manager to include work flow monitoring, process improvement, training, reporting and special projects.Provide recommendations for strategies and process improvements to add value to teams and clients.Coordinate with other internal support teams to ensure smooth production by the operations team.Provide resolutions to complex escalated queries and complaints from external and internal customers.Lead, coach, motivate and develop associates to deliver high quality reports to clients to achieve or exceed set operational targets.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, attendance, and generate reports as necessary.
