Job Description: Storage Farm and Processing Unit Manager
Position Overview:
The Storage Farm and Processing Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient management of stock, operations, and personnel at the farm and processing unit. This role involves coordinating with the procurement and sales teams to maintain sufficient stock levels, managing the end-to-end process of receiving and dispatching live birds and processed meat, and overseeing staff and logistics to meet the company’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stock Management:
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely lifting of stock from designated locations.
• Oversee stock receiving processes, including quality checks and documentation.
• Monitor and minimize mortality and weight loss during storage.
• Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of live birds to B2B stores and processed meat to retail stores across Hyderabad.
2. Staff and Resource Management:
• Manage farm staff, processing staff, drivers, and vehicles.
• Ensure staff attendance and productivity.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively, particularly during weekends when operations peak.
3. Logistics and Coordination:
• Plan vehicle schedules to optimize delivery routes and timelines.
• Maintain strong communication with procurement and sales teams to align stock levels with market demands.
4. Data Management and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of stock, mortality rates, weight loss, dispatches, and receipts.
• Use Excel and the company’s inventory management system for record-keeping and reporting.
5. Operational Excellence:
• Uphold high standards of trust and integrity in all operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the storage and processing unit.
6. Additional Requirements:
• Stay on-site at the farm to oversee daily operations.
• Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills to manage teams effectively.
• Take responsibility for planning and executing major operations during weekends, with week-offs provided on weekdays.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Graduation in a relevant field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 years in farm/processing unit management or a related role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Excel and inventory management software.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication.
• Interpersonal Skills:
• Strong command over team management and coordination.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Organizational Skills:
• Ability to plan and manage logistics effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Work Environment:
• On-site accommodation provided at the farm.
• Weekends are the busiest operational days; flexibility to work during peak times is essential.
