CAD Operator Job Role OverviewThis role requires a CAD Operator with expertise in Autodesk Advance Steel to support the design, detailing, and documentation of steel structures. The position is hands-on, requiring precision and collaboration skills to work closely with engineers and project managers.Develop 3D models in Autodesk Advance Steel for structural steel projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.Produce fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and workshop documentation.Collaborate with structural engineers and workshops to resolve design issues, review and update drawings based on feedback, revisions, and client input.The successful candidate will have proven experience as a CAD Operator or Steel Detailer working with Autodesk Advance Steel, possess a strong understanding of structural steel components, connections, and fabrication processes, be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, and demonstrate familiarity with industry standards related to steel structures (EN). They should also exhibit good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Steel Structure Design and Documentation:Develop 3D models and associated drawings for structural steel projectsProduce detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and workshop documentationCollaboration and Communication:Work closely with structural engineers and workshops to resolve design issues and ensure accurate documentationCommunicate effectively with project teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality documentationQualifications and Skills:Proven experience as a CAD Operator or Steel Detailer working with Autodesk Advance SteelStrong understanding of structural steel components, connections, and fabrication processesAble to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specificationsFamiliarity with industry standards related to steel structures (EN)Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
